To those of you who are newly following my educational journey, I will give you a little context.

Last Spring, I was tasked with writing a research paper in tandem with my Educating the Human Brain course. My research focused on the lifelong effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on children's development and health. After two months of drafting, outlining, researching, and editing, I submitted my research to my professor and honors advisor.

After the semester was over, I wanted to go an extra mile and get my research published. However, I had to wait a year to upload my article for the possibility of submission. This March, I submitted my research to the Aisthesis Journal: my university's interdisciplinary honors journal. In late April, I discovered my research had been approved for submission!

So, after completing final edits, my research was formatted for publishing. Now, it is published in the 2021 edition of the Aisthesis Journal!

Before entering college, I would have never thought I would have published research in my sophomore year. I am so grateful for this opportunity.

After reaching this milestone, I am continuing to work on my next research project with Dr. Ariri Onchwari on anti-racist pedagogy and children's books.

As always, thank you for following me on my education journey!
